The S.A.R. Rescue Timer is a special model with a story behind it, having been directly commissioned by the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service. Mühle-Glashütte was once a manufacturer of measuring instruments and tachometers for major car manufacturers, but the maritime rescue team, who valued their precision and durability, requested a practical tool watch that was "easy to read" in any situation and "comfortable to wear without impeding rescue operations," leading to the creation of this model.
